I need it also, very bad situation when you want to invoke Bing map from mentum planet and all you get is Pop Up window saying feature is not longer available :-(

Finally I went for Mapinfo 11 as well - painful as I had to re-write some big modules... however, things are solved.

Not using Mentum Planet so don't really know what to say about that.

The problem is in Planet. Planet installs its' own version of MapInfo. Trouble is that that street plugin belongs to 3rd party... Thereis in Mentum support site, for registered users, MapInfo patch from 12th January. It is about 25MB in size and I assume that it solves this trouble with street maps...
I tried to use version 5.2.1 from the forum but it never worked since I was not able to get any functions in Planet, just in MapInfo, so I have not installed it nor I have tried this patch. because of that I cannot claim 100%that it is solving the problem with Bing Aerial but it seems to me that it is most probably made just because of that...

You can't use them in offline mode because they are downloaded as map layer when you select them. You can have them even without Internet connection only if you have opened them before during the sessionand you are not changing the size of the map and the view. You can try to use Global Mapper to download area that you need and the images would be geo-referenced. Then you can import them in MapInfo as any other layer. Of course, you will no be able to zoom and unzoom...
