Ringing in destination part

I have a basic question but really i need an answaer for it. When u call someone and u hear it phones ringing does it mean that u have been allocated a TCH slot or u are still on SDCCH ?

When you can perform call on the TCH, the SDCCH is dropped. i.e SDCCH only assigns the traffic channel, once TCH is allocated the mobile station is ringing.
