Hi jayk

Specifically looking for information on what iub probes are available on the market right now, and which ones are viable solutions for network wide monitoring. If anyone has experience deploying these probes, feedback on their experience would be great too.

IIRC, the largest Iub probe solution vendor is Tektronix. They have K18 and geoprobe. There are other probe vendors such as Astellia and JDSU.

I would say Tektronix as well. If you contact them I am sure they would be more than happy to send one of their tech sales guys to describe their solution to you.

Also Commprove have a tool to monitor Iub interface with a probe solution over ip and atm (follow Rrc, nbap, alcap). it's able to detect also hspa traffic and create statistical data based on mesurement report.

If you are planning to put on the entire network some Iub probes, make sure to negotiate properly the expansion : usually traffic goes at least 2-fold on this interface per year. So dimmensionning is really a challenge.
In a nutshell :
Astellia if you are more interesed at RF-related KPIs.
Tek if you are primarily interested at individual call trace.

A quick update, we are looking at the Anritsu eoCompass probing solution, an OEM solution with a partner called Verios. This seems like a good fit, the KPIs are very detailed in the RF.
