Enable OpenStreetMap in Mapinfo 10.5/11

OpenStreetMap and Bing Roads are usually disabled options in MapInfo 10.5/11 (unlike Bing Arial and Bing Hybrid).

This below steps will enable OpenStreetMap and Bing Roads in MapInfo.

1. You should have internet access as how Bing Maps and Bing Aerial also works with MapInfo.

2. Click Open or Open Folder symbol just below the file menu.

3. Choose standard places. Go to C:\ Program Files\ Mapinfo\Professional\TileServer and choose OSM_Roads.

4. Wait for the map to load. See Screenshots below.

Hmmm, I don't but i have them with my 10.5.2 and 11 version. You can try Mapinfo 11 available here. Or I will try to upload OSM_Road and BingRoads from the TileServer folder. Copy it in the same folder in your installation directory. Hopefully it works.

I've created two MBX'es that will bring you buttons so you can enable/disable Open street maps automatically. I hope they work - otherwise let me know and I'll sort them out (one application is for win 64b the other for 32).

In this case there's something blocking your connection to the map server - don't really know what it is but you can't get on that server.

try to uninstall mapinfo and clean registry.
use uninstaller pro.

then install Mapinfo again but not in mentum planet folder

In case you can't connect to the internet maybe because your company IT dept put restriction to some sites, (which may include the Mapinfor Tile Server) you can use proxy servers (like tor, etc.) to bypass it as what I did.

@ justdream,
1. Copy the files I attached to C:\Program Files\Mentum\Planet 5\mapinfo\TileServer.
2. Try to create a shortcut for the mapinfo program inside mentum into your desktop and run it.
3. Go to open folder, look for the OSM_Map inside C:\Program Files\Mentum\Planet 5\mapinfo\TileServer.
Open it.
Hope it works.
