Combined AMR Mode and Power Control for GSM

Hi everyone,

I would like to get more understand the advantage when combined AMR and Power control for GSM. Can you share any document about this one, especially about case study. I've read E******* Alex, but it doesnt describe much detail this topic.

btw, I see the good document on IEEE about this one "Combined AMR Mode Adaptation and Fast Power Control for GSM Phase 2+". Could you share if have :)

Basically AMR is better standard voice codec (Enhance FR also) in term of voice quality due to adaptive codec mode based on radio environment. Hence MS and BTS can more reduce power for the connection --> improve interference. Consequently we can separate desired thresholds for AMR and non AMR connection in Power control.

I would like to lean more detail about this topic. Which threshold is acceptable for AMR connection in term of RxLevel, Quality, C/I. How much is better when compare gain from power control when using 1 threshold for all and using separate thresholds for AMR and non AMR connection.
