Up for grabs 5 meters resolution data for Dampier Port area of Rio Tinto Iron Ore processing facility in North West of Western Australia.
Map was developed by Sinclair Knight Merz for Dampier Port Upgrade project in 2003 using three-dimentional laser scanning methodology.
I realise this is not of much practical use, however level of details is excellent.
The data would be a perfect use for educational purpose, especially for someone specialsing in plotting the coverage for mining sites and railway lines - Dampier Loop of Rio Tinto railway was built in the cutting - so the results of the RF coverage plot will be quite interesting.

Another problem with Visicom maps ---- they are not always correct.
In some suburb areas their maps not much more than a bullsh*t.

Visicom buy high res. images of some area from satellite providers,
than make an overhead vector map from it. As you may know,
not all objects are clearly visible from satellite, and you know nothing
about building names, numbers etc.

Clutters is all we need for serious RF planning!

Example -> all you need to plan in Lagos, Nigeria.
Heights, clutters and main vectors (20m resolution).

Would like to see more map sets like this ;)

Here's map of Dubai (UAE) in 25 m res. Originally Map consist of 5 m res till 500 m res, due to this file is so big (even for only 5 m res file) ,so I just share only 25 m res which fit with file size requirement for attachment.

Convert file with FME to something generic and then to ATDI.

edit: I've convert asset file using fme into planet and then I convert planet file using global mapper to atdi file. But the result of clutter is not accurate. The clutter is different from the original file and the atdi file. Any suggestion?

The resolution is diferent because Planet converts Real64/Real32 back to INT16.
This means you're loosing resolution.
Better step is to convert asset to IMG / ESRI format and then use ICS MAP server e.g.

Can I use ICS map server to import height to *.geo and clutter to *.sol and *pal?
In the import/export option there are only available ICS1 andI CS2. Sorry, I'm not familiar with ICS map server.

At least I found 12 ESRI format data (.bil, .bip, .bsq, .adf, .e00, .gen, .asc, .grd, .dxf, .dwg, .shp, .json). Which one is suitable for Clutter and Height?

I can't to convert from asset file to .asc. I don't know why.
Do you know how to modify clutter code? There are clutter code 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 in the asset code. I want to change it into 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 because ICS Telecom only have 0-19 for clutter code.

@freqzt : for 5m res that belong to customer (company's stuff). If you have budget why don't you contact the map supplier? I think it cost too much if you are going to use for yourself.

Hello guys, How to convert Globall Mapper data to Atoll map format?
Hi,
After importing the SRTM file in Global Mapper, follow the following steps:
1. Goto Tools...Configure menu
2. Goto Projection tab
3. Choose the correct projection from the drop down menu. I chose UTM.
4. Then choose the correct zone.
5. Click OK
6. Goto File...Export Elevation Grid Format
7. Choose BIL/BIP/BSQ File
8. In Export Bounds you can choose to export only required area.
9. Click Ok and you're done.

I'm not sure the resolution for this map. No mention resolution.
I have ortho image mention with 20m ( different file size , bigger compare to previous ortho image post ).

Hi all,
I beleive, majority of the requests for Digital Elevation Model data can be addressed by downloading Aster Global DEM 1 arc second (30 meters) resolution data.
Just follow the link http://asterweb.jpl.nasa.gov/gdem.asp, select one of the three links on that page, proceed with registration and then start searching, selecting and downloading whatever DEM you need.
I am using that data for Australia and really impressed with resolution and accuracy of the data. Must have!

P.S. Personally, I use LP DAAC website as it has fastest response with my requests, sending email with downloadable links just in few seconds after placing request and also gives quite good download speed.

Up for grabs 5 meters resolution data for Dampier Port area of Rio Tinto Iron Ore processing facility in North West of Western Australia.
Map was developed by Sinclair Knight Merz for Dampier Port Upgrade project in 2003 using three-dimentional laser scanning methodology.
I realise this is not of much practical use, however level of details is excellent.
The data would be a perfect use for educational purpose, especially for someone specialsing in plotting the coverage for mining sites and railway lines - Dampier Loop of Rio Tinto railway was built in the cutting - so the results of the RF coverage plot will be quite interesting.

Thank's mate I know this tool and using it but the problem is in the next.
Last versions of tLP/mLP have almost dead Map converter and KeyMap and Elevation which is mandatory impossible to create from available format's.
It's need some especial tool which I don't have yet. Looking for that.

Thanks probabaja. Any way to unpack it back to geo and sol? Is is proprietary compression? I tried 7zip but it wouldn't look at it. Maybe someone will have to look at what ICS and Designer does with it?

In ICS Telecom v12.8.0 open *.RGE for digital terrain model, open *.RSO for clutter.
In File Save Save DTM/DEM file(.GEO) for GEO File
In File Save Save Clutter file (SOL) for SOL file.
Now you can use *.GEO and *.SOL in project.
