Has anyone used ZTE (or anything similar) and was able to force traffic from GSM900 system to be HandOver to GSM1800.

I have to this point managed to make an MS camp on 1800 for most of the MO calls but now i want to make sure that TCH traffic is also handed over to 1800.

Dear Friend;

You can make the 1800 in deffirent layer in system and then you can set layer threshold and make it higher than 900 layer accordingly the MS will be pushed to layer 1800 rather than 900.

Hi;
well even if i did the opposite but it's possible to shift traffic from 900 to 1800 that with CRO , first activate that on cell you want to shift traffic from (900) , put PT=31 and increase the actual CRO by 4 (this is in idle mode to let MSs camp on 1800) and in the dedicated mode you have to make handover harder from 1800 to 900 and easier in the opposite direction by adjusting HOMARGINPBGT.

Hi for colocated G9 and G18, it's quite tricky to push traffic from G9 to G18 using power budget and you might end up using aggressive values of homarginpbgt. On this case, it's more effective to use umbrella HO from G9 to G18 and the key here is to use an optimum value for hoLevelUmbrella. You could start with -85dBm, meaning if G18 signal level is > -85dBm voice calls will perform handover to G18 regardless of the signal level of G9. Check the traffic after implementation then if you want more traffic to push to G18 you can set the threshold lower at -90dBm. Would suggest not going lower than -90dBm to avoid dropping calls. Cheers
