I am evaluating this tool. Can anybody give feedback on their experience with crosswave, and how does it make it better than other Ray tracing models?

Thanks

well, In my opinion the prediction with this model when is compared with Volcano and Winprop is similar. I have installed Atoll 3.1 with these three propagation models. I think its depends on how accurate is calibrated the model. However, I do not know why I still prefer to use Volcano propagation model(althought all those guys from the three differents companies offer a really very good support), but I would have to compare prices to see what is the best. the less expensive of course:lol.

Thanks for your reply, what about accuracy and speed? how does it compares to the rest of the ray tracing models?

And would you agree with the following statements for favoritism of Crosswave Vs Other Ray tracing models?

• Crosswave automatically adjusts to the environment type (dense urban, urban, suburban, rural, etc.)
• Crosswave is less sensitive to 3D building data accuracy/quality than ray-tracing models
• Crosswave comes pre-calibrated
• Crosswave set-up is simpler than ray-tracing models

Thanks

Can someone share working example ( with buildings)?
Thanks

I'm not sure what does pre-calibrated means, because every environment is different and is dificult to get a realistic prediction without a field test calibration. I think that depends on the accuracy of the maps (resolution)and date of release, two characteristics which are too difficult (Very expensive) to keep them up to date.

I think to buy crosswave with atoll, is the same as to buy Microsoft windows with Microsoft office. everything depends on mutual convenience. Everything else is the same.

Crosswave from Forsk is the same propagation model as Universal Model, which has been part of Planet for years, though with an integration which is not (yet?) as good as in Planet. It is not a ray-tracing model and is more like AWE's dominant path model. In my experience, it is better than Volcano and much better than Wavesight.
