Dear Experts,

I am bit confused of how dthnamr / dthamr works.
The document describes that both of them are the ratio between the idle and deblocked TCH which is presented in percentage. So, when the threshold is exceeded then the MS will be in halfrate mode.
But, what about the existing connection(s) which are already there before the threshold level is exceeded and still going on when the threshold level is exceeded?
Will the MS be transferred to halfrate TCH or stay in fulrate dedicated mode?

Kindly need your oppinion.

Existing connections will stay in FR, so you need be careful with this settings.
For example if you use default values DTHAMR30/DTHNAMR10 at cell with low capacity (2 TRX for example), traffic is normal and TCH mean holding time is quite long 50-70s, probably you'll have congestion at busy hour.

Feature who change ongoing calls codec are called DYMA - Dynamic FR/HR Mode adaptation.

BestRegards !

The existing connecions will stay on FR TCHs.
when the traffic load reaches the DTHAMT/DTHNAMR threshold, the ramaining idle TCH's will be used for Half rate. If the DYMA feature is active, the ongoing dedicated connections may move from FR to HR or from HR to FR.
