Difference between direct job and Job provided by Agents

Hi experts,
Actually this question arouse in my mind, what is the difference of getting job directly by E******* or Huawei and getting it by agents (pentaconsult,tanint etc). For the same project, if I have been called by agent and one of my colleague is called by E******* or Huawei directly, which one is preferable ?:confused:
