Hi,

Request people who have worked on E******* to share the possible reasons for Mute calls in the networks.
Any knowledge sharing on reasons due to Paging issues, faulty media, Software bugs, MSC connectivity issues etc. will be appreciated!!!! :cool:

Beside mute call, I got problem voice suddenly bad until loose in the middle of conversation, what is called? What is it caused by?

wrong CIC values defined..!
TFO feature caused momenterly Mute call in our system E// recomended to turned off & it resolved.

wrong CIC values is make crossconnection not make "mute call", for problem above that called " connect low voice"

we observed continuesly mute calls too..

also in huawei vendor there is one counter which can reflect mute calls in bsc6900 rel..

As my experience mute call causes:
- BTS: wrong hadware installation, wrong transmission.
- BSC: TRAU, STM1 card, wrong software upgrade.
- MSC: wrong cic config, wrong STM1 mode, hadware fault.

So, you mean that E// doesn't support TFO as yesterday night we tried to active the AMR TFO with E// BSC nokia R4 core network but we got silent call!

Are you sure this counter is accurate? Have you already detected silent/ 1 way calls based on this counter?
As some colleagues informed me it's not accurate..

For E// MSC side, wrong mapping of CIC with the corresponding STM in the MGW. Another is the framing mode, check if you use ITU-T or Interleave
