Hi,
Dear Expert,
In our Huawei regions We cannot acheave AMR usage more than 89% but e******* and Nokia is near 94%.
costumer asked us what is the reason?
Please help me to increase AMR usage.
Which parameters I should change?

Please support.

did you check the BSC license for AMR per TRX you have.

Give more info - what is this 3G or 2G, have u done some parameter changes and etc...

i assume penetration of AMR & Non-AMR remains same.

these parameters are related to tchH not to AMR usage.

in our case enhance full rate is high an amr is 89%

i will correction this : AMR setting is two sided feature, from Core and Radio setting, so i think utilization AMR depend on two sided, actually do you already checking with your capablelity beside on Radio setting (above is correct parameter related to AMR HR)

AFAIK this is the parameter that allows HR assignments on Speech Version 1 after the load on cell has reached % value x in this case 31
This parameter must be higher than AMR TCH/H Prior Cell Load Threshold

AFAIK this is the parameter that allows HR assignments on Speech Version 3 after the load on cell has reached % value x in this case 30

Perhaps I misunderstood you ?

If you are not talking about HR then is % of AMR Traffic not governed by the rate the mobiles in the network support ?

Are you taking AMR TCHH + AMR TCHF Traffic as a % of K3014 on the cell . Genuinely curious as looking at similar issues.

But core is same for all vendor (Huawei-nokia-e******* have same core)
and AMRH is correct.It should be one more parameters for none AMR and AMR not for AMRF and AMRH

Mobiles are same across the country.
Maybe the meaning of mobile distribution type is the handset type.
In some rural areas or suburban, a handset that is used is many which didn't supported AMR (an ancient type of cheap handsets).
So when your huawei network is in rural it will low ARM util, less then in your nokia/e******* network that is in urban or dense urban that many of the handset is modern handset type.

Yes I was referring to MS type which may or may not support AMR ;
On the network Im working on currently non AMR traffic is about 6-8%

If as you say you are measuring AMR as a percentage of total traffic then it is dependent on the Handset.

AFAIK
The only option you have here is to Disable one of the other speech versions EFR perhaps but I cant imagine this being allowed .

Why cant you tell us what you are measuring ?
Or perhaps you can tell us if E******* are allowing Speech Version 1+2+3 FR and 1+3 HR on their cells

Hi All,

First thing i guess may be huawei area is serving remote areas where there is possibility of low AMR capable mobiles. its an important check!

Now lets come towards radio parameters. Have you checked AMR licenses and there utilization in busy hours on bsc level. increase AMR devices if there is congestion.
For half rate on cell level, trigger AMRHR relatively earlier as compared to non-AMR.

Share all above information, i can help you more on it.

We have the same problem in our network : 4% AMR_FR/HR; 7% ENHANCED_FR/HR & 89% NORMAL_FR/HR (I found this distribution by importing the counter of speech version)

Can you PLZ advise us what we have to Do in order to improve the AMR utilization?

Coding rate adjustment threshold and hysteresis (half rate)
Radio link timeout (RLT) and SACCH Multi-Frames
AMR radio channel management parameters
AMR handover parameters
AMR power control parameters ...
