Hello engineers..

we are planning to implement direct retry feature in our 2G network, as to minimise TCH congestion to some cells.

my questions are: what are parameters or things that should be considered during implementation? Can someone share materials for this feature if any...

Directed retry is the transition (handover) from a SDCCH in one cell to a TCH inanother cell during call setup because of unavailability of an empty TCH within thefirst cell. Directed Retry is detected with a standard HO algorithm (could be due to poor quality, low level, long distance, power budget, etc)
The MSC allows the queuing of a TCH request.

Useful parameters include:
- T11 (queue duration)
- BTS Q LENGTH (number of TCH requests that can be queued for one cell)

For siemens, there are few parameters such as EN_FORCED_HO, ESDCCHHO, FHORLMO, EN_INTER_SDCCH_HO Intercell HO_Cond_Ind etc
