Question Softhandover not allowed during call attempting in cell fach state? [Archive]

I was encountered several call attempt failure event in huawei network which i observed there were drastic drop in best EcNo value(From -10 to -24dB) and no softhandover was performed during call attempting, RRC State = Cell Fach. My question is, softhandover is not allowed during cell fach state? Any parameter setting involve in this case?

No softhandover is not allowed in FACH state. FACH is a common channel.

It can only be used on DCH channel.

how about cell reselection? will it be able to perform in cell fach state?

UE will do reselection during mobility in FACH.

SHO only performs in Cell DCH.

You should do a Cell Reselection in Cell FACH.
