Hello everybody :)
I am new to this forum and i have a question to ask you.
I have an university project and i have to calculate UMTS link budget.
So i found the max allowed propagation loss then the cell radius then the cell area.
Lastly have to find the maximum number of subscribers in the cell area for given population density at the city of 300/km^2.
I calculated cell area to be 0.2 km^2 and according to that there are 60 subscribers in the cell area.
And now here is the question - i have GoS=2% in the input parameters and i was wondering how to use it for UMTS system. If it was for GSM i think i've had to use the Erlang B table to find the channels/erlangs but do i need the Erlang B table for UMTS and how ti use it.
Or i just could let the cell capacity be 400kbps and then assume traffic mix per subscriber 4kbps/busy hour and calculate some number of subscribers (100)?
So to put it simply - how to use GoS to make a simplified calculation about max number of subscribers per cell?
