Suppose the Iur interface is not defined between two RNC, so which event will be trigger before handover between one RNC to another?:confused::confused:

If Iur is not defined between the Source RNC and the drift RNC, you will get drops due to IuR..mostly because of missing neighbors between the 2 rnc's.

Only Hard Handover (if the neighbors are declared in DB) . assuming the neighbor cell is on the same frequencey , you will get event 1D (HHO Replace best cell)

1A : add new cell to Active Set (monitored set ==> active set)
1B : remove worst cell from Active Set
1C : replace worst cell in Active Set (monitored set <==> active set)
1D : replace the best cell (this includes intra frequency HHO)

yes, it is the answer ! only hard handover then will get event 1D

in the event of ho during inter-rnc, drops and failure will occur because neighbors between inter-rnc are not defined. I already experienced several incidents between undefined inter-rnc neighbors. (if this is useful, please add reps thanks man)

absolutely, two relation must be created then hard handover applying for mobility ;)
