Tried it with Global Mapper but it seems to take ages to export elevation grid map.

Tried with a smaller section of a map and it still takes a long time.

Is this normal?:confused:

well whenever i tried, ASTER it doesnt give me problem..exporting from global mapper is also very fast..i think its depend on number of tiles...i tried 6 at a time..& its very fast..how many u hv tried?

Tried with 18 tiles and still had problems. Anyway, solved it by downloading the tiles directly from the site and it works fine.

Agree that Aster is indeed 30m..:lol

I'm not sure how big your area you was trying to download But it is same to me when download the data with Global Mapper vs Website. GM should be simple process rather than login the website.
