Hi friends,

Does any body know what exactly is usage of ECSC(Early Classmark Sending) parameter in E/// system?

What is correlation of ECSC and different ciphering algorithm?

How it can affect on drop call with different ciphering algorithm in BSC level?

Thanks

Hi friend,

Learning from 2G swap project ******** (dual band GSM 900 & 1800) --> E******* (dual band).

I had experienced when setting ECSC (early class mark sending) to OFF in E*******, the cells doesn't carry traffic in GSM 1800.

We found this parameter different for consistency check and when it set to ON, GSM1800 band starts to carry traffic.

Explanation of the parameters:
ECSC indicates if early classmark sending should be used by the MS. In order to allow multiband operation the value must be YES. Extended GSM and multislot also require the value YES. The parameter is set per cell.

That is the usage of ESCS in E*******.

But i dont know how it can relate to ciphering algorithm.

Hope this helps.. :)
