I have used with BSC6900 RAN12, the result are excellent. This tool is very much valuable for database engineers, optimizers, planners, etc.

What is needed now is a document that can explains all of these parameters.

Hello there,

1. You need to have BSC6900 dump available somewhere on your PC.
2. Click the button "select import file". A window open file will appear. select the dump file from where did you locate the file.

3. Click on the button "Transfer data to database", it will take sometime to import data from the dump file.

The tool will split the data into many sheets, and it will generate a list for every block of data in a sheet called "Table List".

Note that I have tried it on Office 2007 Windows Vista, and it worked fine for me. Concerning the last error it is generating we can compare the data from the block with the data in the Excel workbook.

In addition to importing the data into the same Excel workbook, it is going to export the same data into an Access database in the same folder.

Do you think there is a similar tool for nodeB?

Log in to the OMU of any BSC6900 from internet explorer, in the panel it opens there is a tab on which it is written dump, just click on the button and specify where to store the dump, it is very easy.

Well that's the problem, when you click on the button, it doesn't open a window but instead only gives an error message.

@qaqa - I'm also using Win7 but should that really be a problem?

You are facing this problem you need to enable some references inside Excel to communicate with other Office elements (Access in our case).

Just open an empty Excel file, and go to developer tab, Visual basic, insert module, tools references. Make sure to select the items listed in the snapshot below.

The VBA module is password protected, if some one can ***** the password I can trace the error.

@RF Engineer, I will share my experience with this tool as soon as I find something new. However I think the best people to talk about this tool are database engineers who work on daily basis in this field. I'll ask my friend dendiwiji for support.

What is OMU?? We have M2000, CME and LMT to export and observe data from BSC but dont have OMU... Can u let me know how to get dump, file format....

Hello there,

Sorry for the late reply. We usually use dump to get a copy of BSC6900 database.

Each BSC6900 has an IP through which it communicates with outside world. Just point your browser to that IP and you'll get some thing called web LMT.

Click on MML tab and try one of the following commands LST CFGMML or DSP CFGMML. The command will dump all the configuration of BSC6900 into a text file. You can choose where to store the file, and you need to give it a name. Execute the command and after it finishes it will tell you where it has stored the file in a small text box. Use the ftp tool from the web LMT to download the file to your PC, and then you can open the file in any tool you desire.

The file contains a huge amount of information, which definitely is a very valuable resource for engineers from different units.

OMU is a short for Operation and Maintenance unit, it represents a board in any network entity through we communicate with the network element. It might not be the official name to use in case of Huawei, but all similar boards have the same function.

for GSM it's also work la,,, but We need to open the text CFGMML dump file and Replace “KBIT/S” with “KBIT_S”. before import to Excel macro. :)
