Hi experts,
please could explain to me what a LDR algorithm in UMTS?

also, what a DRD and PUC algorithm, there meaning and functionalities ?

In HW,

PUC=potential user control (new SIB messages are sent to redirect the idle UE to less loaded cells, i.e. idle mode 'forced handover;)

DRD=directed retry (RRC DRD used to redirect UE to less loaded cells and try to secure RRC success. RAB DRD used to redirect UE to less loaded cell, so that RAB can be successfully established)

LDR=Load Reshuffling (a set of algorithms to intentionally offload a heavily loaded cells. UE in connected mode can experience reduced data bit rate, forced to handover to another UMTS freq, forced handover to GSM, changing AMR coding, etc.

What actually happens when we set the service steering DRD to ON?

I have F1 and F2 cells. Load balance DRD is set to ON for DCH and HSDPA for all cells.

When the service steering on, -> the DRD should be based on service differentiation and it will see the Service Priority Group on each layer.
Let say on F2 the HSDPA is set to prio 1 and R99 to prio 2.
Then on F1 HSDPA is set to prio2 and R99 to prio 1.

So HSDPA call setup will be directed to F2 and R99 will be directed to F1.

Provided that load balancing DRD is OFF, right?
Otherwise, setting service steering and load balancing both ON doesn't make any sense.:confused:

Yes, the load balance should be deactivated.

This is what i did here, i change the strategy from Steering HSPA layer to Load Balance, and i turn of service steering then activate load balance hsdpa.

This is in Huawei, ADD UCELLDRD.

at both phases.

Load balance DRD is only happening during RAB estabishment.
RRC DRD is happening at the RRC establishement phase
