Hello everybody,

I'd like to discuss with you a weired thing I've seen recently...we deployed WCDMA network (the Vendor is Huawei) but we haven't launche the service yet the weired thing is that some of users who have 2G SIM card can camp on WCDMA cells and use it for CS services. so the result is some of our 2G traffic went to 3G and call drop rate is increasing because our 3G net isn't ready..

could anyone tell me how it happens and what are the main causes

and the suggestions

thanks

Your 3G cells should be barred so UE doesn't use them for cell reselection and doesn't camp on them in idle mode.
But Cell Barred doesn't prevent UE to do handover to those cells so if you have configured handovers from 2G to 3G UE will move to 3G in call state. Till 3G is deployed you should prevent those HO from happening.
