Hi experts,

It's a bit strange that when I made the comparison of RSCP from scanner (C702 or Z750, with TEMS Inv) and from UE, sometimes the values from UE are higher than from scanner.

Here is the parameters to compare:

Scanner: CPICH_Scan_EcIo_SortedBy_EcIo_0
UE: Uu_ActiveSet_RSCP_0

Could someone explain for me?

Thank you in advance,

It's normal cdmahn.

Because with UE, we have power control so RSCP will different with scanner.

Thank you, but as my undestand, the CPICH power will remain unchange (not apply power control) in UMTS system.

EcIo is the signal quality for any TEMS. You should compare Ec from scanning with RSCP from UE. You should find a difference only if you have different devices (N/A in your case - only Z750i) or you have different ARFCN used in idle or scanning.

Agreed with the last post, you hould compare the following :
Scanner: CPICH_Scan_RSCP_SortedBy_EcIo_0
UE: Uu_ActiveSet_RSCP_0

Also, you may easily find a difference around 10-20dB depending on your setup :
UE not having an external antenna, Scanner having an external antenna with up to 5dBi gain...

Hope this helps...

I don't think he will notice any big difference in dBm because he is using the same device for idle and scanning for the drive-test. The signal level should be similar during both measurement for the same SC.

Hi bro,
Please explain the difference between Ec/Io from scanner and Ec/No from UE (connected mode)? which greater? Can we compare them?
Thanks!
