Hi,

I used to make some ping test to test the Iub interface.
You just connect in one NodeB and start a ping with the command of the ping depend on the vendor then you can test the quality of youe Iub transmission.

I am interested about the technical aspects. I.e. What is happening when sending a Ping from a Laptop that is connected to the internet using a UMTS or HSDPA stick. Is the stick carrying the Ping over Cell Fach,..?

It depends on the whether the ping is done continuously or not, and also depends on the packet size that you use for the ping.

If you use continuous ping and quite big ping packet size then most likely the process will use CELL_DCH instead of CELL_FACH
