Hi pro !
Pls give me ur advice for this problem:
- Sometimes, we get message about miss call from anther MS when we stay in good condition ( full signal, no trans fault). Miss call occur not usual, from MS in same net or different
- But when we called back again, it's ok
- We use Alcaltel System in RAN net ( Viba trans from ALU ), E******* in Core
This problem is not usually, happened in different place
So can u suggest us some solutions for this
Many thks for ur support:confused:

Actually it also depends on equipment if the equipment is connected to the tool then it is in auto answer mode which shows a message of miss call from other MS

Sorry, I'm not fully understand ur comments. Did u mean that MS is connected to another equip ( such as PC, phone...) when another MS is calling ? In this case, I don't think miss call message will happen
In my case, MS still in idle mode, free :(

Hi,

If you talk about Missed call notification, then the origin is diverse:
- check of course your accessibility in the site, maybe it is degraded.
- check your paging success rate and registration success rate (if the problem is general then the paging in impacted as well)
- if the site location is in RNC border then there might be some ping pong for Location area update resulting in Missed call and UE batterie getting low fast.
- Check as well if you have RRC setup/access failures due to synch (mostly related to transmission or BTS clock)
-check your MHA or ASC (depending on the vendor), maybe faulty (see history if intermittent alarms)
- try to increase the feeder loss compensation, this can improved your accessibility.
- check the E1 errors to be sure it is not from transmission
-check the cabling as well, need to tighten more the connectors and jumpers
- check the noice floor on the sites
- check the VSWR
- ask for the paging from Core as well
- check as well all the cards load in the RNC

Hi, I have a lot of questions for locating source of problem:
Did you have any A interface traces?
If you have, whats seen in them?
Is problem happening in one particular LAC/BSC/MSC?
Is problem happens for some specific phone types or in some particular hours.
What is you paging strategy (IMSI, TMSI, repeated Paging).
Are you using Gs or DTM?
When MS is reached with second call, does it answer first or second page and with TMSI or IMSi?
Try, using TEMS, make many (a mean really really lot of calls at different times) repeated calls to any MS and check if all of them reaches MS.

Hi Guys,

Actually i observed this problem in our network also. Some of the reason are:

1. Pilot pollution on the area
2. Multi Server problem
3. Missed 3G/2G neighbor definition
4. Ping Pong in Idle mode

For 3 first case try to optimize coverage and restrict overshooting cells

for 4th case define IRAT relation and check inconsistencies in between 2G and 3G network

Please share your experiences

I don't think the issue is in the RF interface - suspect media gateway... but that needs extensive tracing.

Yes, fro NSN have more powerfull tools to seeing every message and what problem on signalling message using Traffica PS/CS tools

hi,
if you are on the 3G network:
most probably the problem is a LAC border problem so you are having a lot of ping pongs location update while having the call. you can solve this problem by adding Qoffset2s,n to prevent the ping pong location updates.

if you are on the 2G network:
and I think this is most probably your case (because you said that the problem is happening in a lot of places) then most probably the problem will be that your MS is attached to EDGE (getting email or something, specially if you are using smart phone), and as you know that multi services are not supported in the 2G network so the paging will get lost.
however there is a feature which is called "BSS paging Co-ordination" that can pause the EDGE data to receive the paging and then resume it again after the call is finished.

so please clarify which of the above cases are you facing.

thanks,
Mohamed Magdy El-Hakim

uses Traffica CS if your MSS NSN, in there all message will be ready to analyze

First of all, many thks for your advices, it's help me a lot
Last day, I tested by using 02 MS call each other, then do imsi tracing and get the message to analyze. But everything seem ok:o
Maybe something happened with the media gateway part ?

I've had the issue a few years back. Sometimes I got the missed call message, sometimes just noise was coming so the user hanged up. After extensive tracing we discovered that the interface between RNC/MGW was wrongly cabeled. Once we set the installation correctly everything worked fine again. You need a specialist RNC/BSC engineer to help.

Could u pls give me more details about this ? Wrong cable betwen RNC & MGW ?
