View Full Version : Question Trouble in WiMax network

Hi everybody!
I have a trouble in remote wimax network. Subscribers don't connect to sector. But sometimes one or two subscriber joins this sector. Network has 3-sectors structure, reuse 3. All sectors around are loaded. There is no strong internal interference. Drivetest is completed with high attenuation of neighboring sectors. There is overlapping but adjacent sectors have alternative frequencies. Equipment operates. Vendor - samsung. Does anybody have the same problems? Why they can't join this sector properly?

have you ever test the AAA Sever, you know Authorization,Authentication and Accounting. Maybe this site is not properly configured.

check outsource interference in area around this BS.....we come across this same problem where subcriber were not able to connect to Samsung BS Wimax..... Do spectrum scan within your band....100 percent interference,,,,,,,,,

How behaved thus NI when there was external interference? I think that it should be high enough, but in our case NI is normal.

Check with R1 traces and initial network entry performance. What are the average CINR values of the deployed MS this is another important factor. Verify the physical parameters of the site along with soft parameters.

Is the problem resolved? Please share your experience

Mike is right, first at all you need to be shure that the problem is an interference issue and not a coverage issue..
-if RSSI is BAD and CINR OK=>could be coverage issue, check the power levels on the basestation or try to detect if there is an obstruction of the signal.
-if RSSI is OK and CINR BAD=> could be interference, but be shure that your basestations has been properly sincronized and backhaull is working fine.
-if RSSI is OK and CINR OK =>check your DHCP server and AAA server.

Some kind of cpes have leds that flash indicating a network failure.

the best way is to trace the network entry procedures,,, there are a lot of ways and some are vendor specific,, ask your vendor how to trace it to accurately find the root cause problem,,,, thanks is most welcomed!
