Hello to all.

Right now we are have capacity problems en WCDMA with a lot of HSDPA users.

Wich would be the best strategy:

1 - Start putting only 3G sites? I mean to start putting a lot of 3G sites, this meaning to have smaller coverages. Getting a higher Density in sites.

2 - Go to Second Carrier instead of putting more sites?

3 - We still don't have IP-RAN. Deploy IP- Ran and put a lot of new sites with smaller Coverages, searching for the hot spots?

If someone can share some documents or papers related to this I would appreaciate it..

Thanks a lot.

Regards.

Hi man
Here is what I am suggesting:

1- Limit the HSPA users/cell. limit the HSPA sevice to be provided to users in the need of high data rate (make the threshold bigger than 2M for example
1- switch to IP-RAN because it will provide you with higher IuB band.
2- Use of the second Carrier for HSPA service only.
3-Add 4th sector to cells suffering from congestions
4- Add in-building sites.
5- Try to improve signal quality, reduce Pillot polution, reduce HO.
:)

... 4 or 6 sectors with 2nd scheduler should be good and easy, you need to split your current site into two with:

2 FSMB (Site A) and 2 FSMB (Site B), both sites replacing the previous one
Both sites with 1 Double RF Module each
Dedicated UMTS Antennas
Distributed configuration.

Hope it works for you
