DESCRIPTION
Equipment Fault Handling is the function that takes care of the
Equipment Faults that can occur in the node.
The faults will be detected on PIU, Device Group, Device Set
and Device level of an DB/AU. If needed fault co-ordination is
used to pin-point the real faulty unit. Besides the object that
detected faults faulty units can also be the cable objects.
The faulty resources will be isolated (made unavailable), via
setting of the operational state to disabled. Faulty resources do
not have to be isolated when they still can provide their service.
In that case they become Degraded. Operational state changes
are propagated to dependant resources and to the device users.
The alarms will be sent to the alarm service in Cello where they
will be put in an alarm list, be logged and be sent to any Mub
user subscribing to the alarms.
Depending on the fault a recovery action will be initiated by the
MP.
The function provides also a mechanism for faults detected on
the MP in order to be able to report them to the operator.
