View Full Version : Help-Fast Handover in Huawei 2g

Dear Experts,
We have Subway stations, and tunnels between them.
Huawei 2g.(InBuilding Sites)
In tunnel we have not gap coverage......
But just for 2 second it should handover to another cell.
Because they have overlap just for 2 second after that we have just one cell along the tunnel.
Another thing is which idle mode coverage has 5 seconds overlap for two cells.
How can I increase dedicate coverage same as Idle?
(Dedicate coverage is 2 second, I think that's because of BCCH power)
Please help me to improve handover in this period for example:
serving cell RX lev is : -90
Target Rxlev is: -92
RTL is 1 (Before drop)
I cannot increase coverage with antenna movement.
If it can handover to target cell even in this RX lev my problem would be solve.
System is Huawei 2g

please help me.

Hi,

I don't undesrtand 2G of huawei so i can give you just an idea.Probably if you decrease handover margin between these two cells and make handover decision faster by changing hrqave/hreqt. Another option is to increase the power of the cell (Don't know how is in Huawei but for example in ******** i can set it to single mode and doble the power at the price of capacity)
In idle mode UE measures the serving cell not so frequently like in dedicated mode so probably this is the reason for the longer time you observed.

Use power budget handover, make the voting P/N as 1 out 1 measurement report (480ms for TCH/470ms for SDCCH), try to set the
"PBGT watch timer" and "PBGT valid timer" to the minimum value (1 second if I remember correctly).
decrease "PBGT HO threshold" from 70 to 68 or even lower
"UL Qual. threshold" to a lower value
"Min. DL level on candidate cell" to a higher value
Inter-cell handover margin to a lower value (4db or even lower)

Best solution to provide coverage in tunnels would be cascading RRU solution
Which will provide a continuous coverage for the tunnel from a single cell

In order to avoid call drops please consider following options

> Enable fast moving handover and tune thresholds to suits your requirement

> Activate TCH reestablishment
this would allow to re-establish a TCH even after tch connection dropped

> increase the RLT (radio link timeout) - max is 64

make sure to increase RLT in FR/HR/AMR FR/AMR HR

> reduce watch time and valid time in PBGT/Edge handovers

solution suggested by zhanglw268 is also helpful for sure

you can do all options together, but it would be better if you can do item by item and see the results

i think you can phycially change or use high gain antenna for serving side and use pbgt unless u get better i mean other cell should be prefebally serve good level for about 86 and use sudden drop ho so that it might can give you a desired result

But we cannot change antenna or physical location.
I'm traying above suggestion and monitor result.

From what I can understand you want HO from one cell with -90 to a cell with -92 for a short period of time (2secs) after which there is a cell dedicated to provide better coverage. Since you cannot do physical optimization (antenna movement) you can try increasing the power of target cell. thus the RXLev will be much improved causing the HO to occur. Another option is to check if the quality of target cell (-92) is good even though the level is not better than source. In such a case you can adjust quality HO margins.

Did u tried all this suggestion given by expert here.....for better use of this telecom Site....reply if u apply any of Single solution and u See Improvement in KPI so its Also helpful for Other People....

I tested But not diffrent but suggestion of Zhanglw aa little helpped
