Which Band To select?

Hello,

I have a simple question. If a provider has been given
UMTS 850 and UMTS 1900 from the government which one the provider will choose to buy? How will he decide ?

I understand this way if in city we might need 1900 as huge population
high freq needed and in rural area distance is matter not the densly population so low freq is ok .

The operator should always choose 850 band as the absorption losses at lower frequencies are less and hence coverage is more. It doesn't matter if the population is high or low. More coverage gives more flexibility to the operator in terms of coverage capacity trade-offs....
