SMS on WCDMA

Hi everybody!
I had never found how sms are mapped on umts. They are mapped on CCH or DCH?. When you access you ask an RRC CONNECTION REQUEST?. Which channels handle the sms?. thanks!

SMS is mapped to Low Priority SRB (SRB4)
for sure you will need RRC connection establishement.

Ok, so the cell assign a code and physical channel? if this is true the channel is a common one or its dedicated?

They are sent on DCH, mapped on signalling radio bearer 4 (SRB4).
