Dear All,

Is there any impact on coverage when deactivating the Power Control on a cell?

Can any help?

no it wont...because on pilot carrier i mean bcch carrier power control does not work or you can say as per specs power control is disabled on the BCCH carrier..!!

just to add the importance of power control below is the frequency

for gsm - its 2hz
for cdma - its 800hz
for wcdma - its 1500hz (inner loop)

A small correction for auto_art post:
Power control in BBH doesn't work only in BCCH timeslot not whole TRX. It is not working in whole BCCH TRX only in SFH or non hopping configurations.

Dear, could you kindly explain why we have difference effect of PC in BCCH between (BBH & SFH)?

Dear, could you kindly explain why we have difference effect of PC in BCCH between (BBH & SFH)?For that you need to see how the hopping works!!! to be clear Power control has no impact on coverage whatsoever be the case or any value as coverage is idle mode stuff which in general is always transmitting at max power until and unless some very specific energy reduction feature are working!!!.. where BCCH TRX can be powered down by 2db where you will have some shrinkage!!.
