Can anyone explain about O&M, OMS, NetAct and where are all these hardware present in the network and what are there functions in 3G.

OMS -Marconi/E******* SDH multiplex, part of transmission network
O&M - Operation and maintenance

i'm an O&M engineer in profession. One of the difficult task in Telecom industry. It exercise your mind in thinking, but the useful tool is you know the principle behind the equipment and theory of communication.

but where are these hardwares present? how many instances of these hardwares are there? And to add on, O&M is just a function of OMS is that ryt?

Have you worked on NSN wcdma platforms ?

Netact is NSN OSS solution for WCDMA Network
OMS is the operation and maintenance unit for an RNC handles alarms stats and applications for alarm stats parameter tools

If you have no access to network equipment suggest visiting NSN website and browser through product range.

will give you a high level overview, then build some credits up and download the many courses available from the forums

OMS - is a multiplexer for marconi transmission, it is actually an equipment.

We as O&M uses LCT to access this equipment to check for any troubles or for mapping purposes.

Mapping means creation of E1's.
