Hi all,

Can someone tell me what is the speed for RAB (Radio Access Bearer) for Video call?

and one more thing,

What is the DL speed acquired if we set our radio using 64QAM modulation?

Thanks mate.

For Videocall CS64 it is 64K

In case of 64QAM L1 speed is 21 Mbit/s!

Thanks Mctest!

you just confirm that my answer was correct during an interview yesterday...:D..but why the interviewer seems to be so skeptic with the answer.?he responded as if my answers were wrong..he sounded something like this..""uhgrh,,are you sure you can reach 21 Mbps by using 64 QAM"..I said, yes it is speed of HSPA..

Ok one more thing, do you mean for video call, we can chose either to use Cs64, PS128, PS384 or PS512 ?? Thanks mate.

Video calls use 64 kbps CS. So, it does not take the PS route. Also, regarding the question on 64QAM, you could have mentioned that the speeds realizable are quite theoretical, and actual speed will vary dependending on the proximity of mobile, clutter class of the environment and the Packet Scheduler's mode of operation.

for 64QAM modulation technique the speed will vary from 15 to 19 mbps but youo cant get full speed of 21mbps on actual its just a theoritical value set during planning.
That also it requires a good rf conditions with limited users.

21.6 explanation:
In the air we have 3.84 Mchips and using SF16 we have symbol rate 3.84/16=240ksymbols/sec,in case of 64QAM 1 symbol=6bits. 240 multiply with 6=1440 and 15 codes per cell 15*1440=21600.firstmaxim,rishi were right.it is theoretical channel throughput in the air with SF16 and 15 codes. The real speed depends on many things(environment, number of users, available power, scheduler type, etc)

just to add...

for 21.6 Mbps speed,we are taking full data bits & no correction codes...entire 6 bits of 6 bits for a 64 qam.

but in realty you may max go till 5/6....ie 5 bits of data in the 6 bits.

secondly in R8 you can use MIMO & 64 qam together so the speed can go higher.but in practice since the noise will be so high you wont get that.

lastly to add...same is true for 16 qam HSDPA also....T max is 14.4 but Prac max willl be 10.8 Mbps.

Hi There, If I have a MPBN Networks then what is the CS Video call spped will be and my MGW connected with a transit network capcble of SIP SUPPORT, I need the details for dimensioning purpose.
