Hi,
I am curious, why do we need to put GPS at WIMAX BTS?
I dont think we have to do the same on either 2G/3G BTS.
Pls help me to answer my curiousity.
THanks.:o

Wimax is a TDD based system and it need freq and phase sync for the right timing of the UL & DL slot. The BTS can derive the clock out of the GPS sync and use it for air interface timimgs

Wimax use frequency pattern from GPS.
It's something like a timestamp

Yes, but only needed if more than one CPE per BTS using the same frequency or overlaps into the network in the same frequency
