The INTF_ON_IDLE statistic indicates the maximum, minimum, and mean interference levels experienced on idle channels as determined by the BSS.
The bin ranges may be changed using the chg_stat_prop command.
Default bin ranges for INTF_ON_IDLE
Bin Range
0 0- 5
1 6- 10
2 11 - 15
3 16 - 20
4 21 - 25
5 26 - 30
6 31 - 35
7 36 - 40
8 41 - 45
9 46 - 65
above provides an indication of the interference on a channel by recording measurements of received signal strength taken when the channel is idle. This measurement parallels the activity of the channel selection algorithm of the Cell Resource Manager which uses the same data to rank idle channels, giving preference to the channels with a lower interference level. The measured signal level is mapped to an RXLEV value between 0 and 63. Each RXLEV value corresponds to a dBm value:
RXLEV value dBm level
0 ->less than -110 dBm
1 ->110 dBm to -109 dBm
2 ->109 dBm to -108 dBm
62 ->49 dBm to -48 dBm
63 -> greater than -48 dBm
This statistic pegs every 480 ms.
