Hello community, I need your help to solve some questions about E******* 3g/HSPA infraestructure.

Channel Element consuption for all services in UMTS, HSDPA and HSUPA(DL and UL) in the last RAN version???

Posibility to extend cells of the same BBU to other place via Fiber optic?

List of license in RNC and Core ???

Quality of equipments and supports !!!

Thanks a lot.

Look at baseband description. no CE used for downlink HSDPA.
Nobody really knows with EUL: we could not match RAB usage and CE usage statistics.
Please note: each vendor has different CE definition, it is hardly comparable.

>Posibility to extend cells of the same BBU to other place via Fiber optic?
RRU yes, several kilometers. RU no.

>List of license in RNC and Core ???
Uh. Quite a looong list. Take xml file rom RNC and Node-Bs.
Each core NE has different way of storing/verifying licenses.

>Quality of equipments and supports !!!
Compared to what?

E/// has good working boxes. Maybe a bit outdated, but they work.
They become nr 1 when quality mattered, they keep doing it when price is everything.

Support: They have a lot of good skilled support engineers with years of experience.
So, from this point they are the best.
It depends on your contract and relations: you need to deserve them!
So, some networks have bad support, but they asked for it.

Thanks s52d for your support,

For CE consuption I need a table to campare de consuption with huawei, NSN, E*******.

In relationship with the license, please anyone can upload a xml of the license of RNC and Core, I need to view what license we need to buy for some services.

Quality of equipment and support in comparison to Huawei, ZTE?

I have bad experiences with support of huawei.

Thanks.

The CE consumption differs per RBS (nodeB) type. I have attached the baseband product description for both families (the older 3000 series and the newer 6000 series). The tables are included.

Hi!
If anyone managed to make sense of different CE definitions, I would be glad to read.
With E///: MBAs are inventing new features, no way to keep track.
Feature to enable buying feature with another feature to make previous feature work. WTF?
For some vendors CE is multiplied with features, for other it is just HW capacity...
You can do anything from fairy tales in the RFQ answers.
(If you can make sense of BB descriptions of E///, good luck. We failed.)

Support: Zillion years ago, my collegues made a visit to OMC of older operator.
We were unhappy with E/// support, so we ask: what to do?
They told us: "we kick their asses".
We tried. Works.

To quote myself: you allways get support you deserve.
No MBA would ever understand it, but people are not just lines in .xls.

Maybe you could use ueenable command when logged onto the RNC area for the UE. I think you can trace on imsi, tmsi, imei and ptmsi. The logfile for the trace will have to be decoded.

For cell trace try using pset 10000 S1 cell=<cellname>

I suppose you could use pset for a UETR trace on the imsi.

hope that points you in the right direction...

Hi.
A channel Element is the processing capacity needed for a speech AMR 12.2kbps. The difference between vendors lies in if that CE includes processing capacity for signaling or not. E******* does not need extra CE for signaling (it is included). Others have to add extra capacity. That is the reason why it is difficult to compare.
