Hi,

We have license for HSDPA 16kbps UL return Channel. But when we enabled this feature, we had some problems.

1. Less usage.
2. HSDPA accessibility was getting worse.

Do you have any idea?

or has anybody has document for this feature? (on WCEL level, which parameters should be change?

(on NSN equipment)

Thanks

I am not aware there is licence for UL Ret Chn.
Anyway, if the cell has high UL Noise rise (from hourly performance stats), it's likely AC has kicked in and hence HSDPA accessibility will drop. UL Ret Chn rejection/failures should also increase with higher HSDPA allocation attempts.

Hope that helps.

Last Update: I enabled 16kbps Return Channel Feature. Almost 60% of users are using 16kbps. But 384 kbps usage is also increased.

Anybody knows how to change it for only Return Channel?

Hello
kindly tell who is the vendor. thx

What is the starting UL speed - 64kbps. In this case the users will use 16kbps only if they are downgraded due to overload or throughput optimisation. Otherwise the user will start at 64kbps and will be upgraded when it requires more. That's why you see a lot of 384 usage. Looks like there are a lot of users.

@optopt. InitialBitRateUL for return channel is 16kbps.

After that, I enabled DynusageHSDPAReturnChannel feature and after that usage of 384kbps was reduced.

However, still after 16kbps usage very less 64 - 128kbps usage. How to improve usage 64 -128 instead of 384.

Vendor is NSN.

thanks

This is last update. NRT bit rate is upgrade from 16 to 384kbps. How to optimize this issue.

Last update. need 2 more feature when we implement 16kbps.

RAN409: Throughput-Based Optimisation of the Packet Scheduler AlgorithmRAN242: Flexible Upgrade of NRT DCH Data Rate

Hi ... :)

How's this problem going?

I had similar problem with UL ret Chn, but it's about congestion (mainly CE) and thus, bad accessibility. Allowing lower bit rate of ret chn is nice but the important step is to limit the maximum bit rate first, have you done it?

To limit the maximum bit rate of HSDPA UL Ret Channel we need to set PRFILE parameter (007:0247) in the RNC. We can set it to max 384, 128, 64, or 16 (the last one needs the feature license).

How's that RAN409 & RAN242 doing?

Warm Regards

You mean R99 16kbps?
