Does any one know or share the main reason for throughput fluctuations during FTP some files in the field using Drive test tools?
Is there any features\Parameters that can make the standard deviation as small as possible?

Things that come to my mind-
Check for pilot pollution. Maintaining single best server while stationary is best. If you are driving, fluctuations are imminent as you hand off from cell to cell.
Check you CQI. you should be able to see more than 25 for a better throughput.
Check if 64QAM modulation is on. This directly improved your CQI.
Check and see if dynamic code allocation is on.
Check voice and R99 traffic. If your cell is having more of this, try to reduce R99 usage by limiting sf8adm, pwradm and pwroffset.

It is normal For 2G as throughput is related to RF condition in specific time and location .

Hi Osama,

are you using UMTS (R99), HSDPA or GSM for your downloads?

Check you pc settings- tcp windows' sizes, also settings on the server side you are using. Mind that sometimes DT equipment overrides OS settings for the time it is on. Hope that will help!
