Hello,
I'm working on a huawei ran12 equipment. Since the upgrade from ran10 on all smartphones i can always see hsdpa indicator while in idle mode.
Why this is not ok? Because our network has 2 freq, one is configured with r99 and free for the ue to camp on, while the other cell in reserved and used for hsdpa and r99.
So i should see hsdpa indicator only when i'm on 2'nd carrier. When i have a pdp activated but due to no traffic i go back to 1'st carrier i should see 3g indication.
I noticed this in a qxdm trace, but unfortunately i did not made a trace on ran 10.
Do you have any ideea about how this parameter is set by huawei network? it seems that it cannot be set by operator.
I assumed it is set automatically when user sets a hs-dsch channel in the cell, but i have no such channel in the 1'st carrier cell.

Thank you!

Hi again,

It seems to be an improvement of ran12.

Here are the details:

1. Support R99 cell broadcast HSPA capability when it has a DRD neighbor cell with HSPA capability

Description:
R99 cell broadcast HSPA capability when it has a DRD (Directed Retry Decision) neighbor cell with HSPA capability. When UE camps in R99 cell, It will be directed to HSPA cell if it establishes a HSPA services. So if R99 cell broadcast HSPA capability in this scenes, it can make customs to sure the area is covered by HSPA cell.

Improvement:
R99 cell broadcast HSPA capability in SIB5 when it has a DRD (Directed Retry Decision) neighbor cell with HSPA capability. It can show the true HSPA capability of current area.

Implementation:
When DRD switch is ON,

1. R99 cell broadcast HSDPA capability in SIB5 when it has a DRD (Directed Retry Decision) relation to HSDPA capable cell.

2. R99 cell broadcast HSUPA capability in SIB5 when it has a DRD (Directed Retry Decision) relation to HSUPA capable cell.

Related operation:
Using following MML command to turn on DRD switch:

SET CORRMALGOSWITCH: DrSwitch= DR_RAB_SING_DRD_SWITCH-1&DR_RAB_COMB_DRD_SWITCH-1;
