Dear All,

Please any body share to me how to reduce High CE Utilization :

With the Issues is highest Used CE in PS Interactive UL 64
formerly I've been reduce bitrate for UL 384 become UL 64
with a point of view to reduce CE by correlated to SF usage.
but its not really have a big impact..

and the UL direction is not supposed to be bigger than DL direction right?

note :

- Flexi Node B
- FSMB+FSMD Used = 240+396 CE

thanks

You could look to decrease timers for DCH > FACH> PCH>IDLE. This will free resource earlier at the expense of signalling but it does improve CE usage.

The ul will always be higher as you used a greater SF on the UL compared to the DL for the same speed RAB.

Hope this helps

You can,

- Reduce the initial bitrate UL/DL to 16kbps.
- Check HSDPA resource allocation in the object browser. Set it to 'Minimum baseband allocation'.
- Load/Service based HO to potential under utilized adjacent cells.
- Downtilt if the cell is taking traffic from a distance. Check with PRACH Delay share report.

Hope it helps.

Firstly, HSDPA UL 16 kbps needs license but you'll save at least 50% of HSDPA UL DCH CE usage. The HSDPA Resource Allocation of "minimum baseband" only gives you 16 HSDPA users/BTS, so if youre already experiecing CE congestion, more likely you also have high HSDPA users. But setting to minimum baseband instead of usually default 16 users per cell saves 64 CE is DL(96-32). Load/service based handover is too risky to manage. I think you can optimize L1 first and observe if theres too much SHO overhead, this also increases the CE utilization as the BTS needs to reserve CE for incoming SHO.

Set Cell Indiviadual Offset in -4 for all relations neighbors in cell with high utilization, for manage only conection 1 radiolink.
with this you will save channel element

Another action for reduce Channel Element utilization, used DCCC algorithm for optimice resources initial RAB is low. when traffic volume detect high data tranfer asign RAB high.

There are cases where UL CE Load can be higher than DL CE Load, especially in area with high number of HSDPA user. If HSUPA is disabled, every HSDPA connection will occupy some dedicated CE in UL for its return channel, while in DL only 1 dedicated CE (since there are already certain number of reserved CE for HS-PDSCH (depending on what HSDPA scheduler type) which being shared by all HSDPA users). In this kind of situation, if no HW upgrade are planned, you may try activating of 16kbps HSDPA return channel feature (license required) or try to reduce SHO area.
Thank you.

Hi all,

Is there a document or a little description of Soft Ho setting that allowing less CE consumption?

Hi all,

you can limited the coverage for SHO, cause SHO always need CE, one way is we limited the coverage for SHO area.

Thank you! have you a detailed method and required setting to limit a SHO area?
