IRATHO Fail du to Physical Channel Failure
hi,
can you help me ( Idea or Documents ...) to solve the problem of high IRATHO fail ( 3G to 2G) caused by physical Channel Failure.
which parametr, Timer ... must be optimised

Can you please dig out up to worst cells, we doubt you have some Co-BCCH/BSIC issues mainly.

Re: IRATHO Fail du to Physical Channel Failure
Hi, Can you kindly furnish some more detail of problem you are facing. You can tune InterRatPhyChFailNum and penalty timer. Feel free to carry this discussion further and share your findings.

Re: IRATHO Fail du to Physical Channel Failure
Hi,
HO fail due to Physical channel failure could happen due to different reason. Most improtantly you are requested to do the following-
1. Check the thresholds value/trigger timers for 3G to 2G HO based on the eqipment vendor.
2. Neighbor 2G BCCH/BSIC, LAC & quality.
Thanks

Re: IRATHO Fail du to Physical Channel Failure
hi:
I also has the same problem, but I have checked everything and I cant find a reason.
Question: does anyone knows how to find which is the 2G cell where the handover fail??. I have checked the performance of all the 2G neighbors of the 3G cell and the counters for fail incomming handover from 3G are 0, the 3G cell has a ISHO to 2G failure rate around 25% but the 2G neighbors counters are perfect.

check the source 3G cell if its no resource available to HO 2G sites

Hi,
IRATHO fail here is RT or NRT? and fail from 2G -> 3G or 3G -> 2G?

Re: IRATHO Fail du to Physical Channel Failure
Hi guys!
Here's a document that instruct how to optimize IRAT HO.
Because of the volume limitation, so I must divide it to 2 parts.
I hope it can help you. Please remember thanks and reps!

@ Vivero!
Can you send me the doc?
My email is faithhund@yahoo.com.
@ Javier!
You can check IRAT HO cell2cell. Which vendor do you work with? If the target 2G neighbors don't have incoming fail HO, maybe your source cell HO to a fake neighbor, because you declare wrong some fake neighbors.
Thanks!

Re: IRATHO Fail du to Physical Channel Failure
Javier,
To check the HO failures from 3G to 2G, you have to ways: By tracing (very easy at Huawei - webLMT) or counters (usually the counters cell2cell at Huawei is a little bit to query)
And if you are checked the neighbor relation issues(BCCH,LAC,BSIC and etc) try to talk to Core Team, because there exist some problem there as I already faced.
With a lot of rehoming some times they forgot to declare that a LAC e etc.
