Default Contractors, Agency and Working abroad experiences

    Hi Expats,

I would like you to share your experiences/thoughts/tips/tricks and words of wisdom regarding agencies or when working abroad?

I am hoping this thread will help, most especially the newb expats who will have their first time going out of their country to work abroad.

is it any different? any comments or tips engineers can put into mind? when you have a contract, do agencies reall stick to what is signed by you? or are there any breaches or any events engineers should be wary off?\

    too many questions. ~! :-)

    Thanks a lot!

Give your psw first properly...otherwise we will complain to NCINTA

Then the breaches varies for each agency/consultants.
Some of them dont explain you well about what are all the parts not covered in salary.

Sometimes, they charge you a Managment fee for handling VISA & Local trsnportation. This actually directly goes to their BANK ACCOUNT.

Normally you get 50% of what they charge the actual company/vendor.
When I was doing contracts in Africa it was in hourly, I am not sure about it now.

goodness i never knew agencies earn that much.

    which reminds me..

I have a colleague who is supposed to earn $x,xxx/24-26 days a month (because the agency assumed that the engineer will work 6 days a week).
When my friend went there to work, the company only let him work for 5 days a week. And he gets his salary less the 4-5 days from the $x,xxx /month contract. which i honestly think i unfair.

is it ok if we ask the agency to set our work periods only 5 days a week? I think that would be fair for all of the engineers i guess

    password"xxx": "(_._Y_._)"
    note: the "_" are supposed to be spaces " " >>> ( . Y . )
    i sure am getting fond of typing my password. ( . Y . )

the best scenario is to negotiate for daily rate as almostly you will be asked sometimes to work in week-end
so daily rate is the fair solution for all sides

whatever the agent are good or not, that's better than local salaries
    so go ahead..

    I just the following method...

A fixed monthly rate for fixed number of days * hours.
If it exceeds than you should get overtime.

Certain Agnecies & Vendors support this.

By the way...the psw is still not working for LZT112254-PW.pdf.
Why dont you create the links again and use some NORMAL psw like others..

If you do so, I will appreciate your work with more details on the present thread.
