High User Number in DCH State (Huawei)
Hi Experts,
Does anybody knows some strategy to avoid DCH user congestion in Huawei RAN16 network?
New site implementation are not possible.
When the cell user number reaches 128 DCH Users, the RRC Access Success Rate are drastically affected.
I've already tryied to keep the low throughput users in FACH state, but it leads to FACH Congestion.
Could be recomended transfer all these users to HDSPA without having more impact in access success rate?
Thank you very much.

Hi muchenski,
do you have HSDPA active ? if not you need to do it as its utilization is better ,
you also need to activate EFD to send the UEs with no data activity to PCH .
why you have such high number of DCH is the main question.
keep sharing ! keep learning ! in the end you will be a Master !!

Hello,
Can you share the value of the following indicators in Busy Hour?
-Mean Number of HSDPA UEs
-Mean Number of HSUPA UEs
-DL and UL R99 UEs
-Voice Traffic (Erl)
-FACH UEs
-CELL PCH UEs
Regarding the FACH congestion issue, make sure the 2nd S-CCPCH and FACH expansion is implemented, this has big impact in congestion reduction.
How many 3G Carriers are available? Is it an option to offload voice traffic to 2G?

Hi EngSoft,
Yes, we have HSDPA active and EFD active as well, with the feature of 60 Users in FACH enabled.
We have a high loaded network, but I don't know if the strategy we are using could be improved.

Is it a multi layer network or jzt single carrier? Does the carriers utilize evenly?

use fach pool
expand 2nd sccpch
expand BW of FACH

Decrease inactivity timer. User will move quickly to lower states, leaving resources for new users.

Re: High User Number in DCH State (Huawei)
Mrs,
You need to know how many HSDPA / R99 users do you have in the cell, one option is to offload CS traffic to GSM (check cell capacity in GSM). Also, as metioned Mrs Sabila : expand 2nd SCCPCH/ expand BW FACH and active FACH unlimited.
Cheers,

Hi
How about Carriers? Maybe you can open a new carrier

You can expand to up to 3rd carrier to increase your capacity and maintain quality of user experience.
