Default planning a national benchmark drive test

    Hi,

Please, can you add some best practices to topics and issues to plan and take care in advance to have successful national benchmark drive test activities.
If some has some kind of check list, log book of equipment malfunctioning, ...

Thanks for all comments and if someone wants to send something additional , as a "package" via PM, to my Forum Inbox, .. please - do so.

    BRs,
    P

    Some tips:

    1. Simcard management: try to get post-paid simcards that don't get throttled after X amount of data is downloaded. If unavailable, you should have someone in charge of monitoring and replacing simcards constantly.
    2. Scanners: get scanners with Mobile blind scanning.
    3. Equipment: if possible use hardware solutions designed for benchmarking (like tems paragon). If you plan to use TEMS Investigation / Nemo Outdoor or similar, make sure you use the apps that allow measurements to be collected directly on the device (TEMS ODM, Nemo NATA).
    4. Power: make sure yo have good power inverters (>1000W) with battery backup. Also make sure ground connections are properly set up in the vehicle.
    5. Try having someone to do quick postprocessing of the data collected once or twice per day, to quickly catch any issues. Automated reporting is your friend.
    6. Use good quality powered USB hubs.

-be sure test mobile is supporting all latest technologies features and supporting all national operators Bands
-use wireless connection as much as possible to avoid connections loss issues (like using huawei PHU)
-Engineers has to open their eyes during the test, in case of continues abnormal measurements.

*Agree with above comment that SIM data package is the biggest challenge you will face

Work with the vendor solutions you know best.
Don't jump into other vendors solutions, it will be a hard wakeup call.
Don't be afraid of the initial costs, to do a good efficient work with high acceptance rate data it will cost (try to rent if you save money).
Perform daily data checks and setup daily maintance checks for teams.
