MTP850 always asking for SIM „please insert SIM“

Hi All,

i got a retired MTP850. The device is always asking for a SIM card, i just wanted to use it for Ham Radio, so no need for a SIM card. I already flashed a new „empty“ codeplug via write entire codeplug but its still the sams. Directly after powering on the device, it shows the „insert SIM“ message.


Do you have any suggestions what i can do to get rid of the SIM issue?

Hi, you need to change your Firmware...

You need R13.000.8661 or similar

The 000 says that the firmware is clear.

Your Firmaware is now probably 220 instead of 000
