Default Atoll two LTE antennas per sector

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me how can I add 2 antennas per sector in Atoll?
    For 4x4 MIMO for example.

You do not need to add an additional antenna. You only need to set the number of TX and RX ports correctly. In your case it's 4TX and 4RX.

    Hi pathloss,

I want to use 2 different antennas at different heights. Do you know any tricks for that?

In the Transmitter tab, set the number of transmitters and receivers to 4. In the Cells table, you need to specify the MIMO mode
    TM
    mode Cell ______________________________________________Terminal
    1 None None
    2 Transmit/Receive Diversity MIMO
    3 SU-MIMO MIMO
    4 SU-MIMO MIMO
    5 MU-MIMO N/A
It is not possible to simulate MIMO on antennas with different heights

    Thanks dmitry28,
This means that here we have a big difference from the Planet. In Planet this is possible. You can also select which port on the antenna you want to use.
I want to simulate the vertical / horizontal diversity gain with 2 antennas, but it seems not possible in Atoll.

Atoll allows you to account for MIMO gain in the Cell Equipment table

Operators often do not have the correct information on the heights of the antennas, the azimuth and tilt. And what port is used for each TRx is not known for sure. Therefore, it is easier to take into account gain than to perform 4 times more calculations.

Yes, those values are for the same antenna configuration. It was interesting if we cam see the MIMO gain in relation with diversity gain obtained by h or v antenna placement.
