    Default LTE carrier aggregation question

    Dear All,

Does Carrier Aggregation support Siso and Mimo combination together? I mean is it possible to aggregate carriers if one cell is Siso and the other one is Mimo

    Hi.
    Yes, it is supported.
Carrier Aggregation is a Level 2 feature and MIMO/SISO is Level 1.
Another question is whether Baseband modules within eNodeB can supporte it.
I guess the only case is when SISO cell and MIMO cell belong to diferent eNodeB. In that case you should ask vendor about the Carrier Aggregation through different Basebands is supported.

    Hope it helps

Agree. CA is handled at the MAC layer, and MIMO is at the physical layer. So, it must be possible to have CA and MIMO operation combined, if the specific release of the 3GPP standard supports it.
