Refarming UMTS2100 - LTE
Colleagues, who ever had to perform the reframing of the third carrier UMTS2100 (as the most lightly loaded) in LTE2100?
How to assess the consequences of disabling the third carrier on the cell for the remaining carrier frequencies,
I would not want to degrade the KPI.

Hi croleg.
You should look into the 3rd carrier utilization per cell.
It is obvious that in case of, even, a small utilization, KPI will be degraded.
In order to minimize this negative impact it is needed that network forces devices to camp on LTE. So you should study the LTE devices penetration in your network. The final intention is that devices use LTE for Data instead of on 3G.
I hope it helps

Re: Refarming UMTS2100 - LTE
I understand that we must first look at the utilization (by the way, perhaps, we need to evaluate the power utilization , HS codes, traffic, block), but how it will look like in the end - I do not have an understanding of how to specifically decide what for example on this cell you can remove 3-carrier and do not have another one..
Maybe someone faced such a problem, as they decided.

Hi croleg.
I am not expert on this issues, but from my understanding:
1. removed 3rd carrier of those cells with no utilization
2. decided the maximum degradation, i.e. selecting all of those cells that 3rd carrier utilization is below the decided value (calls in 3rd carrier divided by total number of calls in all site). That's the key point
3. configure the network for LTE Data priorization
I hope it helps
