3G Link budget

Hi everyone,

Someone has a good 3G Link Budget to share?

I have an Alcatel document that makes reference to an Excel Linkbudget Tool "ILBT4RNP" that makes use of excel macro to converge UL calculations and DL calculations using Power, traffic, Ec/Io, etc.. It seems interesting because it is not static, and based only in the Pathloss. In the UL it makes iterations till the interference caused by traffic matches the Ec/Io target value. And in the DL it makes iterations adjusting the DL Txpower, till the coverage in the UL matches the coverage in the DL (calculated previously).

If someone have it or a good one, please post it here.

Hi Damien. In fact I wanted a link budget calculator (in excel) but this file seems very good. I think I can think a little bit and try to put those formulas and concepts in an Excel file. I think it will require a little of Programming in VBA (macro) to be able to implement it properly.

It is not a simple Linkbudget like many others, because it need to adjust the UE power and the number of UE's (automatically) to be compliant to the designed Parameters such as Interference.

Sorry nothing to hand I will try and find something for 2G but I think I relied on the Wiley books originally.

While I dont have the Wiley books to hand here is some information on 2G it contains a Linkbudget and description of how it is put together.
