Default STP-series recase and tamper switch

    Hi,
It seems I'm popping out threads about the same radio so a FAQ might soon be handy.
What does the tamper-switch do? ie. can the radio be recased by oneself (if a case can be found) or will it kill the radio in such a manner that it needs deeper tools to revive?

    Also, are the cases available?
I have one unit with the power/mode-button worn to such a state that it's through and not IP55 any more.

I contacted the local Sepura dealer who gave me one option: flatrate. At quite a price.

    Hi,

To my knowledge the tamper switch would delete all encryption keys, not sure about authentication keys.
If your radio is clear than it shouldn't do anything to the radio.

Unfortunately spare parts for Sepura are not so widely available as for, let's say, ********.

    Regards,
